1. Unbox and Separate the Table
Before going to the Jeep, separate the lightweight backing plate from the heavier table portion on your workbench. This makes the installation significantly easier.

• Use your 10mm wrench and 5/32” Allen key to remove the nuts and bolts connecting the table arms to the backing plate.
• Discard the nuts you remove, but keep the bolts and washers handy.

2. CRITICAL WARNING: The Nylon Spacers
As you separate the parts, watch closely for a small, black nylon spacer located between the table arm and the backing plate.

• Do not lose these. They are small and can be hard to see
• Set the table, arms, bolts, and nylon spacers aside in a safe place for reassembly later.

3. Remove the Plastic Trim Panel
Open your tailgate and locate the large plastic panel.

• Use your upholstery tool or flathead screwdriver to carefully pry the panel off.
• Tip: If any white clips get stuck in the metal door, remove them and reattach them to the plastic panel before reinstallation.

4. Drill Mounting Holes
Look at the back side of the plastic panel you just removed. You will see four pre-marked circles (dimples) indicating where the holes should be.

• Using your 1/2-inch drill bit, drill through these four marks.
• Note: You are only drilling through the plastic panel, not the metal of the Jeep.

5. Reinstall the Panel
Line up the clips and pop the plastic panel back onto the tailgate. You should now have four holes in the plastic exposing the threaded bosses (screw holes) in the metal tailgate behind it.

6. Identify Spacers
Locate the four aluminum spacers in your hardware kit. Note that there are two different lengths:

• Longer Spacers: Go into the BOTTOM mounting holes.
• Shorter Spacers: Go into the TOP mounting holes.

7. Install the Backing Plate
Place the lightweight backing plate against the tailgate. The channel on the plate should face toward the tailgate.

• Insert the longest bolts from the kit through the plate and the correct spacers, then thread them into the tailgate holes.
• Tightening: Tighten the bolts using the 5/32” Allen key. It is recommended to tighten in a "cross pattern" to center the plate. Do not overtighten; just get them snug (about a quarter turn past tight).

8. Reattach the Table Arms
Now that the backing plate is securely mounted to the Jeep, bring the table portion back.

• Line up the table arms with the brackets on the backing plate.
• Reinsert the Nylon Spacer: Crucial Step—Place the black nylon spacer back between the table arm and the bracket before sliding the bolt through.

9. Secure the Hardware
Insert the bolts through the arm, spacer, and bracket. Secure them with the 10mm nuts.

10. Tighten the Hinges
Tighten the hinge bolts using your 10mm wrench and Allen key.

• Note: These are Nyloc nuts. They are designed to feel tight due to the nylon insert inside the nut to prevent rattling.
• Tighten them until snug, but ensure the table still folds up and down smoothly.

11. Finish Up

• Test the latches to ensure they lock and unlock smoothly.
• Peel off the protective coating from the cutting board
• Your installation is complete!
